It was our third anniversary and we did tell Koa Kea Hotel and Resort that in our notes but we didn’t expect to get upgraded to a corner view like this so it was a great surprise and kudos to them for making every effort like this to please their customers.

We like to have corners for reasons of privacy and only having to share one wall instead of two so one of our travel tips is to make sure and ask for it when when booking. As the old adage goes, "You don’t get, if you don’t ask".

The neat thing about this corner were the seals on the beach which get roped off when they lay on the beach and apparently it’s a very common thing to have the seals laying around and we have a perfect view.

Another one of our travel tips is not to spend those air miles too early. Go ahead and save up over 100k of them as we we’re able to splurge on this hotel by using those miles for the flight. The hotel is very pricey so it was a good splurge especially since they upgraded us to the beachfront room.

The place is located on the south side of Kauai island and is in a good central location to most everything you need. Lyft ride sharing wasn't big at the time we visited so we did rent a car but I bet nowadays that using Lyft would be all you need if you're staying here.
